Trusting the Promises: Preparing for the Lord’s Return
In the Christian faith, the Lord's return stands as one of the most profound and cherished
beliefs. Central to this anticipation is the unwavering trust in the promises of Jesus Christ. The
Bible is replete with verses that emphasize the significance of trusting these promises as a
foundational aspect of preparing for the Lord's return.
One of the most powerful expressions of trust in Christ's promise of return is found in the book
of John, where Jesus himself assures his disciples:
A New Contagion
We are living at a time when people throughout the world seek to protect themselves from the new
Covid-19 contagion. This contagion, also known as the Corona virus, has impacted everyone on a
personal, national and international level. It has shown no preference to the young or old alike. The
Corona virus targets those with reduced immune systems and compromised lifestyles, making them
more vulnerable in this new pandemic.
Covid-19 is not the first pandemic to impact the world.
How much time do you have to accomplish your dream?
How much time do you have to accomplish your dream?: No one knows. The Greeks have two words to define time. One is called chronos, which is measured time (seconds, minutes, hours, days, etc…) The other is called kairos, which is conditional or based on specific things being in place. Several times in scripture, Jesus said, “my time is not yet.” In other words, certain conditions needed to be met before other things could be accomplished. Many people wait for optimum conditions to exist before they start to pursue their destiny. Remember we have all been given a limited time to accomplish our success. So whatever you are going to do, do it now. This is all the time you have to make it happen.
Do You Know Who You Are?
Realize that God’s grace is extended to you for every shortcoming in your life. God is loving you to greatness through faith in His Son, Jesus. For every time you mess up GOD is saying, if you ask, He is faithful to forgive your sin and cleanse you from all unrighteousness. His grace gives us another opportunity to get it right.
There Is Greatness In You!
Day 5. Know who you are: You have battles to fight and you must fight them from the position of who you are. When you know who you are you can approach the throne of God with boldness. You are like a child bursting into his parents room knowing you are supposed to be there. You are a child of the King. You are an heir and joint heir with Jesus. You are the redeemed of the Lord. You have a right to be
there. When you know you are a royal priesthood your fight changes. So act like you know. There is greatness in you.
Struggle builds Character
Day 6: Before you can stand before greatness you must learn from your stand in defeat. Now you know what doesn’t work so you can move forward finding what will work. God does not waste anything you went through. He uses it to help you press your way to your goal. Don’t let temporary setbacks keep you from success. If God be for you, who can be against you? (Rom. 8:31).
Make up your mind that you will put your total trust in God.
Day 4: Trust in God’s Promises: You and I are in a world bombarded with lies and we wonder who we can trust. God’s word says, “…hath he not spoken, and shall he not make it good?” (Numbers 23:19) In other words, we can trust God all of the time. His “word will not return to Him until it has accomplished what He sent it out to do.” (Isaiah 55:11). Make up your mind in 2017 you will put your trust in God because He will never let you down.
What are your goals? What do you wish to fulfill with God’s help?
Start your New Year with a plan to draw closer to God. This is day 1. ASK God for His plan for your life. Write it down and make it plain so all who read it can understand it. Work the plan every day by starting and depending on God to help you. In other words, you have some homework. Stop wasting time. Get started!
