Six Steps To Your Transformation
Everything alive is expected to grow. Spiritual growth is not like earthly growth. Because you are in the family of God you need to know how Father (God) thinks and how to get along with your new family. Growth comes through prayer, fellowship with mature believers and the study of the scriptures. Matthew 4:4 says, “Man does not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.”
Prayer
Prayer is the language of the believer. Through prayer the repentant man/woman confronts their sin and cries to God for forgiveness. In brokenness and repentance they realize they have fallen short of the glory of God. God gives us hope. II Corinthian 5:17 says, “If any man be in Christ he is a new creation, old things are passed away. It all starts with prayer.
Salvation
Receiving Christ is as basic as learning your ABC’s:
ADMIT (agree with God you are a sinner) Romans 3:23
BELIEVE (Jesus is God’s gift of salvation to the sinner) John 3:16
CONFESS (Ask Jesus to come in your heart and live as your Lord and Savior.) Romans 10:9-10
Body of Christ
You are a baby in the Lord. You have been born again not of flesh and blood but of imperishable seed (I Peter 1:23) and you need continual care to thrive. That is why Jesus created the family of believers called the church to help you grow. Hebrews 10:25 says, “Not forsaking the assembly of ourselves together as the manner of some is…” In other words, you need to come to church regularly to be fed.
Growth and Maturity
God desires that we all be saved. We know people who need Jesus: husbands and wives, sons and daughters, co-workers, etc.… How shall they hear the good news if we don’t tell them? So before you go to the hedges and highways to tell someone else about God, why not start right where you are? Growth comes by simply sharing the good news that Jesus saves.
Spiritual Empowerment
As children grow, they seek opportunities to showcase their talents and abilities. Some trust earthly abilities to serve God’s Kingdom, only to later discover, “This kind goes out by much fasting and prayer. Supernatural power is needed. That is why Jesus told his disciples, “You will receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you.” (Acts 1:8)
Evangelism
God is faithful to provide opportunities to share your faith and to lead others to Christ through your witness. There are many people God want to save. Some of them you already know: husband/wife, children, parents, friends, co-workers, etc.… “As many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. (Romans 8:14) Just remember what He has done for you and go tell others the good news: Each One Reach One.
